Terms and Conditions
Welcome to Brighthouse Day Camp! We are excited to have you join us for a fun-filled and memorable camp experience. Before proceeding with the registration and participation, please carefully read and understand the following terms and conditions:
Registration and Payment
- Campers must complete the registration process by providing accurate and up-to-date information.
- Full payment must be made to receive the Early Bird Pricing or before the camp's commencement.
- Payment can be made through authorized methods mentioned on our website or as communicated by our camp administration.
- There will only be credits applied for Early Bird Pricing.
- There will not be credits for partial attendance or absence without permission from the Camp Director.
- You can switch weeks that have already been paid for with permission from the Camp Director.
- Any requests for a CREDIT must be made in writing to the Camp Director at yescrecYALE@gmail.com.
- If you need to cancel, to receive a FULL credit it must be done prior to May 3, 2024 minus a $50 processing fee.
- If you need to cancel after May 3, 2024 - June 3, 2024, you will receive a full credit usable for any YES offering through August 31, 2025.
- If you need to cancel after June 3, 2024, NO CREDIT will be provided.
Camper Health and Safety
- Campers must submit health information and emergency contact details during registration.
- Campers with pre-existing medical conditions or allergies must inform the camp administration in advance.
- Campers must follow the camp rules and guidelines, including safety instructions and the directions of camp staff and counselors.
- Brighthouse Day Camp reserves the right to dismiss any camper whose behavior poses a risk to their safety or the safety of others.
- In the event of an emergency, if I am unable to be contacted, I hereby grant permission to YES to authorize and emergency action necessary to ensure my child's safety.
Cancellation and Refunds
- Cancellation requests made at least 30 days before the camp's start date are eligible for a full refund.
- No refunds will be provided for cancellations made less than 30 days before the camp's start date. You will only be eligible for a credit.
- Credits will not be provided for campers who leave the camp early due to homesickness or personal reasons.
Camp Conduct
- Campers are expected to behave responsibly and respectfully towards fellow campers, staff, and camp property.
- Any form of bullying, harassment, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.
- Campers are responsible for their personal belongings, and Brighthouse Day Camp will not be held responsible for any loss or damage.
Media and Promotion
- Brighthouse Day Camp may take photographs, videos, or recordings during camp activities for promotional purposes. By participating in the camp, campers and guardians consent to the use of these materials.
- Campers' personal information will be handled in accordance with our privacy policy.
Program Changes
- Brighthouse Day Camp reserves the right to make changes to the camp schedule, activities, or facilities due to unforeseen circumstances or safety concerns.
Weather and Force Majeure
- In the event of severe weather conditions or unforeseen events beyond our control, Brighthouse DayCamp may modify, postpone, or cancel camp activities for the safety of campers and staff.
- If Brighthouse Day Camp cancels due to state, county or camp location health orders or mandates, you will receive a 100% credit that can be used through August 31, 2025.
- If Brighthouse Day Camp cancels in the middle of a week due to state, county or camp location health orders or mandates, you will receive a prorated credit based on the number of days canceled in that week that can be used through August 31, 2025.
- Credit requests must be made in writing to yesrecYALE@gmail.com. Phone calls and voicemails are not valid forms of notification.
Governing Law
- These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Florida, without regard to its conflicts of laws principles.
Liability and Responsibility
Participation in any YES activities and use of any recreational facilities involves a risk of accidental injury despite all safety precautions. Having been informed of the activities to be conducted by Yale Entertainment and Sports, Inc. we as an individual and/or as a parent and/or legal guardian of the participants named herein, assume all risks and hazards, incidental to the activities and release from all responsibility and agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Yale Entertainment and Sports, Inc., its officers, directors, independent contractors, volunteers and all employees for any illness or injury to me or my children and/or family members occurring during their participation in any activities or use of any recreational facilities at or conducted by the Yale Entertainment and Sports, Inc.
I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form will be used by the event holders, sponsors, and organizers of the activity in which my child may participate, and that it will govern the actions and responsibilities at said activity. In consideration of my application and permitting my child to participate in this activity, I hereby: WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE from any and all liability, including but not limited to, liability arising from the negligence or fault of Brighthouse Day Camp, its trustees, officers, employees, camp counselors, volunteers, entities or other persons released, for my child’s death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to them including their traveling to and from this activity; INDEMNIFY, HOLD HARMLESS, AND PROMISE NOT TO SUE Brighthouse Day Camp, its trustees, officers, employees, volunteers, or other entities or persons released from any and all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this activity, whether caused by the negligence of release or otherwise The Accident Waiver and Release of Liability Form shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. Brighthouse Day Camp, its Trustees, directors, officers, and all its employees, acting officially or otherwise are hereby released from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action on account of any injury to my child that may occur. This release binds my heirs, executors, administrators, and/or assigns. I understand that outdoor activities may occur in the hot sun and in the rain. I agree to see that my child is appropriately attired for camp activities, and to provide insect repellant and sunscreen for my child to use at camp. I will not expect Brighthouse Day Camp to provide these items. I give my permission for Brighthouse Day Camp Staff to apply or assist with the application of the repellant and sunscreen I provide. In the event of illness, injury, and/or accident, I authorize the camp instructor or any Brighthouse Day Camp employee to act on my behalf. They may approve any and all non-emergency or emergency treatment and are authorized to sign any and all medical release or required form(s) on my behalf. In the event of an emergency, I understand that I will be notified of the situation as soon as practicable. I agree to pay any necessary expenses not covered by Brighthouse Day Camp camper accident policy incurred in the medical treatment of my child, including, but not limited to all transportation costs to and from a medical facility, and, if necessary, transportation to my home or medical facility of choice.
The coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. YES will have in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, YES cannot guarantee that you will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, participation could increase your risk of contracting COVID-19.
I understand that Brighthouse Day Camp may, in its sole discretion, dismiss any camp participant for inappropriate, disrespectful, or dangerous behavior at any time. In this event, I understand that I will not receive a refund of camp fees for unattended days. If my child breaks or damages any property as a result of their direct or indirect behavior, I hereby agree to pay for its repair or replacement.
I/We hereby grant permission for the YES and/or its agents to photograph and/or video tape the above named registrant during the participation in activities or use of recreational facilities at the YES. I further authorize the use of any such photos and/or videos for any promotional and/or documentary purpose without compensation. I have read and agree to the YES’s policies on Cancellation, Refunds, Credits and program policy as well as the liability waiver.
I CERTIFY THAT I HAVE READ THIS DOCUMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENT, AND AGREE TO ITS TERMS.
By completing the registration process and participating in Brighthouse Day Camp, campers and their guardians agree to abide by these terms and conditions. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our camp administration.
